about

background info

I was born in Taurianova, a small village in southern Italy, in 1984. Under the influence of my father, I remember my father had this briefcase full of analog cameras, and I dreamed of one day having them. At 19, I received my first Nikon. I started taking pictures for fun. I started to use my creativity in photography, making my hobby a job. I work with models, actors, artists and ordinary people. I attended the prestigious Roman School of Photography in Rome, studying some of the most important photographers of the century such as Billy Brandt, Francesca Woodman, Jan Saudek, Edgar Degas, Man Ray, Robert Doisneau, Robert and Shana, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Mapplerthorpe, David Lachapelle. I also specialized in analog photography, from shooting to developing the film in the dark room.
For me, the world of analog photography is a very precious world. It is true photography, and there is no better feeling for a photographer than watching his photographs arise from a blank sheet of paper.

My philosophy

I believe that the camera lens doesn't have to choose what to capture, but can only listen to prompts of what it portrays. This is why my technique is guided by subjects and details, by the desire expressed by a movement, taking snapshots that are both frozen stories and prolonged moments in an infinite movement. Some of my most intense and personal works were made in the places of my childhood. My works have been presented in several Roman group shows and has received proposals for two personal exhibitions. When I prepare a photo shoot I take care of everything: from the idea and arrangement of the set-up, of the clothes to the make-up. Everything follows the visions of my mind.

About my future

When I moved to Düsseldorf, together with Alessandro, my husband, we opened a studio DAS MECHANISCHE AUGE that deals with graphics, photography and video production. I have worked with several famous brands and recently I decided to offer a film development service in my darkroom. Also, I work as a Social Media Strategies for different companies.
