What is Film Photography for me?
The biggest advantage of film photography is that it offers you a way to learn. Film photography is much more difficult and challenging than digital photography. You need to know your camera inside out, the scenes’ abundance of light and what your film can do.
analogue photography does not forgive superficiality
and that is why I think it is a fundamental step in the training path of a photographer. I started by taking pictures with my dad's old camera. It may seem absurd but I immediately learned not to waste.
Yes, because when a single shot
in addition to being unique and potentially unrepeatable, also begins to cost, like it or not, you have to re-enter the order of ideas to use your technical skills and your head to the maximum before pressing the button. Photography then begins that transition from "point and shoot" to "reasoned shot". This does not mean giving up one's creative impulsiveness but rather it is a pretext to increase one's awareness of the tool used.
Without film photography, there would be no digital.
